His ingenious idea was to force water under pressure to flow over the coffee grounds to produce the cream that has made espresso coffee world famous. Coffee machines have evolved over the decades: from the traditional lever controlling a pressure-generating piston to a fully automated mechanism that, with a flick of a button, grinds, measures and delivers delicious espresso coffee. In 1977 Gaggia began producing coffee machines for the home. In this family market, which emerged and expanded over the years, Gaggia is still the absolute leader. All products are made in the Robecco sul Naviglio factory (Milan, Italy) where tradition is combined with quality and modern technology. |
